Just put back together the wee system i had problem with the board.

Replaced Mobo and cpu etc and reformatted the HDD, got all the drivers etc and updated from microsoft.

Problem bow is the PC just reboots as soon as you shut it down.

Have cleared the CMOS and tried another PSU, Checked all the connections and all appears well.

Any ideas?

i take it your shutting it down via windows start menu shutdown?   if so try using the power button on the case itself and see if it shuts down ok or if it reboots.
Also are you sure the pc is shutting down completely or is it crashing an then restarting?
by the sounds of it tho it sounds like an windows issue.
I take it the system starts up ok,  posts ok an loads windows ok?

Made a few changes in the BIOS power management.. Disabled most of what was enabled.

Seemed to have sorted it out.

Thanks

Thats odd as if you check the manual theres nothing in that part of the bios that has anything to do with normal shutting down of the pc.

The settings in that section of the bios are to do with suspend mode type,  wakeup functions,  cool n quiet, power button function and restore after power loss.

The pic above shows the default settings for this section an nothing that is turned on would cause the pc to restart on normal shutdown unless it crashed or the power was cut before it was complete shutting down then it would indeed reboot which would similar to the restore after power loss function.
You said youve turned everything off that was turned on,  the cool and quiet is similar to intels cpu stepping  turning it off will cause the cpu to run at full speed all the time which will cause the cpu to get hotter than it would normally.  It is recommended that you keep cool n quiet on unless running in sli mode.
